What is in my Room?

Included in your room is a specialized electric bed with standard mattress, a 3-drawer nightstand with a locking drawer, a wardrobe and a sitting chair. Bed linens and towels are also provided.

What am I able to have and not have in my room?

You are encouraged to bring in pictures and personal items to help make this your home. Please remember that staff are required to perform work duties in your room and must be able to do so safely. Your room must be kept free of congestion and clutter.

For your own safety and the safety of others, items not allowed include teakettles, coffeepots, electric blankets, clothing irons, heating pads and space heaters. Refrigerators are not allowed due to food safety.

How do I arrange for cable, internet or telephone in my room?

You would contact either Shaw or Telus directly to arrange for service and billing.

What clothing items would I need?

We recommend enough outfits and sleeping clothes to cover 3 to 4 days, undergarments, 2 pair of sturdy footwear, 1-2 pair of washable slippers, seasonally appropriate outerwear. Upon arrival, all clothing will be taken by the Care Team to our laundry facility for labelling. There is a one-time fee of $60 for this service.
